I ran out of gas.

Really. I wasn't being irresponsible and forgetting to fuel up, I knew I had plenty of gas to get to town (15 miles). What I didn't have enough gas for was the trip back home again to retrieve my purse. So, I ran out of gas, 5 miles away from teh gas station, in teh middle of nowhere, in the freezing cold, with two kids. Pretty much a nightmare. I can not believe how many people just passed by before somebody stopped to help. Even worse, I can't believe how many people waved back as I was trying to wave down some help. Another lesson learned.
